Formada na pequena cidade chamada Weil am rhein, no ano de 1982 pelo baixista e vocalista Marcel schmier, Mike (Guitarrista), e o baterista tommy, O Destruction é considerado uma das mais importantes bandas de thrash metal da europa, o reconhecimento veio após o lançamento do primeiro album, INFERNAL OVERKILL.
