Ever since I could remember, everything inside of me, just wanted to fit in. I was never one for pretenders, everything I tried to be, just wouldn't settle in.
Oswald Cobblepot, known under the criminal monicker The Penguin, is a supervillain in the comic book series published by DC Comics, and is one of Batman's most persistent and intelligent recurring nemeses.
As a young man, Oswald wished to rise in the criminal underworld, as well as achieve a high level of status in Gotham society. His size, and hook nose earned him a disparaging nickname amongst his colleagues, "The Penguin", a name which angered and humiliated Oswald frequently. He would eventually use his cunning and intellect to usurp his criminal masters and turn the name which was used to belittle him into a title that would instill both fear and respect.
He embraced his image by donning well tailored suits, completed with formal tails, a monocle, top hat, and a series of lethal umbrellas, equipped with various weapons including guns, tear gas, and a flying apparatus which would allow him to easily escape precarious situations.
The Penguin is classified as a criminal mastermind suffering from an apparent Napoleon complex, which is made manifest by his incessant need to go big on all of his schemes and machinations. He, above all else, wishes to be a powerful mobster with political power and respect amongst the well-to-do of Gotham City.
I'm only a man with a candle to guide me. I'm taking a stand to escape what's inside me. A monster, a monster, I've turned into a monster. A monster, a monster, and it keeps getting stronger.
